5 questions for Louise

What means “Doing your Dada” to you?

I paint because it gives me a sense of ultimate freedom, both in the act of painting itself where you can create infinite variations, as by taking initiative and shaping your life entirely according to your own rhythm and feeling.

What challenges do you encounter while pursuing your Dada?

The eternal struggle withI love my work, but I also love being with my family. The question of when to be present and when not is always there. I've found the answer in being 100% where you are. Having no regrets about working less or spending less time with your child. If you've given 100% in that moment, that's what counts and makes you happy.

How did becoming a mother change your life?

It brings much more focus. I used to do a thousand things at once. Now, that's not possible anymore, but I find it more enjoyable. Choosing no longer feels like losing but winning. Everything becomes more intense, simpler, and therefore more enjoyable!

What's your advice for other mothers?

- Do what feels right, live at the rhythm of your child, and you'll experience the least stress about having to be somewhere or the child being stressed and less cheerful.
- Plan one thing per day and take the time for it.
- Only do what you enjoy, and if not, get out of there! You only have one life, and it's super short.

What’s your Dada Mantra?

My motto is: Louise happy, everyone happy. I'm really good at motivating people to take action and giving a positive "yes, you can" energy. But I can't do that with an empty battery, so the choice to prioritize myself first is really central, just to create the most impact for others.
